Community Mini-Orchard – Apply Now!

Message from the Greespace Team at Aberdeenshire Council:

This year, despite the news about the Nature Restoration Fund being redirected to other uses, we are pushing forwards hoping to establish 60 new mini-community orchards across the shire, free to pick for everyone, on public land, and cared for by members of the community with our support.

Although the funding situation is unpredictable, we are keen to capture as much interest as possible for the potential alternative funding routes.

They’d be allocated on a first-come, first-serve, subject to meeting the criteria, with 10 for each of the six areas.

Consultation will be needed with residents and Landscape Services if it is within a council-owned greenspace, which you would need to carry out, with our support.

So if you are interested in applying, please read through and fill in this Google Form: https://forms.gle/ZrkHMEYCWJy3whhw8, by 31st October 2024.
